The whole voter power in Thanjavur district has declined by 7.01% after the completion of the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision 2025 train.
According to an official launch, previous to the SIR, there have been 20,98,561 voters within the eight Assembly constituencies of Thiruvidaimaruthur, Kumbakonam, Papanasam, Thiruvaiyaru, Thanjavur, Orathanadu, Pattukottai, and Peravurani.
During the SIR, 22,279 voters have been declared as “untraceable”, 66,842 as “permanently shifted”, 1,09,241 as useless, 7,989 as “double entry” and 152 below totally different “disqualification categories”. Thus, the names of two,06,503 voters have been deleted from the electoral rolls of the eight Assembly constituencies.
After the scrutiny of purposes submitted alongwith 13 paperwork prescribed for difficult the deletion of names aside from the deceased voters’ names, 29,329 males, 35,236 girls and eight third gender voters totalling 64,573 have been re-entered and the remaining names have been deleted.
Thus, as per the ultimate electoral roll launched on February 23, after the SIR train, there are 19,51,445 voters (9,47,278 males, 10,04,012 girls, and 155 third gender) within the Thanjavur district, the discharge added.
The ultimate roll was launched by the Collector B. Priyanka Raj and acquired by the representatives of recognised political events.
7.98% decline
In Tiruvarur district, the entire voters within the district registered a 7.98 per cent lower comprising Thiruthuraipoondi, Mannargudi, Tiruvarur, and Nannilam Constituencies revealed earlier than the graduation of SIR in November 2025.
While the electoral roll launched previous to the SIR train contained 10,64,640 voters, the quantity declined by 84,988 after the completion of SIR.
