Yashasvi Jaiswal’s return to Ranji Trophy action ended early as he fell for five in Mumbai’s quarterfinal against Karnataka at the BKC Ground in Mumbai on Friday.
Opening alongside Akhil Herwadkar, the left-hander nicked seamer Vidyadhar Patil behind in the fourth over.
Jaiswal had not featured for Mumbai since the resumption of the red-ball season, though he turned out in a handful of matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy.
His early dismissal was an added setback for Mumbai, which is also without senior batter Sarfaraz Khan due to illness.
