Srinagar, Feb 18: J&Ok authorities has confirmed that the development of a brand new bridge over the Jhelum close to Convent Faculty and the Common Submit Workplace (GPO) is below progress. The federal government said in Meeting {that a} Detailed Undertaking Report (DPR) has already been ready and is below evaluation.
In a reply to Starred Meeting query (No. 115) by MLA Sheikh Ahsan Ahmed, the Public Works (R&B) Division said that itvwas analyzing the proposal. The division disclosed that the DPR for the “Development of VOP/Bridge/Flyover from Convent Street (Joggers Park) to M.A. Hyperlink Street by way of Sherwani Street over River Jhelum” has been ready.
The undertaking report, the division mentioned, was developed following complete feasibility research and technical surveys. The estimated undertaking value is Rs 143.89 crore. The proposal has now been forwarded to the Finance Division for concurrence and approval.
This bridge is being deliberate to attach central Srinagar to M.A. Hyperlink Street by way of Sherwani Street. That is anticipated to ease persistent site visitors congestion in one of many Metropolis’s busiest areas.
