Meta’s Instagram skilled an outage on Wednesday (March 11, 2026), with hundreds of customers affected, in response to the outage report compiler DownDetector.
While outage stories started trickling in about three hours earlier, there was a sudden spike in complaints, with person stories on the platform crossing 12,000 by 11:00 IST.
Most customers reported points with Meta’s picture and video-sharing app expertise, whereas others recorded glitches with the server connection and their media feed.
Several users on X complained that they were unable to send DMs (direct messages) via Instagram.
