Exhibition vandalized: Gujarat University withdraws decision to cancel admissions of nine students

Ahmedabad: Gujarat University has withdrawn its choice to cancel the admissions of 9 college students allegedly linked to vandalism at an exhibition on campus, following warnings of protests by the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI). The college had earlier introduced the cancellation of admissions of 9 college students after posters and shows on the Atal Kalam Centre had been reportedly broken.The exhibition included panels and cut-outs of nationwide figures reminiscent of Dr B R Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Veer Savarkar. The administration said that vandalism of such materials harm public sentiments and amounted to misconduct.
