The fisheries sector within the Union Territory is ready for a serious infrastructure enhance, with the Centre approving venture proposals to the tune of ₹246 crore, concentrating on the modernisation of harbours and geared toward enhancing the livelihood of coastal fishing communities.
Official sources mentioned the present fishing harbour at Thengaithittu shall be upgraded at an estimated value of ₹15.63 crore. The venture consists of the development of recent services comparable to an public sale corridor, web mending shed, fishermen relaxation shed, boat restore facility, and public facilities together with enhancements to current infrastructure.
