Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao was arrested by the police on Sunday (February 22, 2026) morning after stopping him from going to Kamareddy and shifted him to Bolarum police stations in Hyderabad.
Mr. Rao was stored beneath home arrest since Saturday (February 21) evening to foil his makes an attempt to go to Kamareddy and later Banswara, the place clashes broke out between two teams. In Kamareddy, rigidity prevailed as a result of challenges and counter-challenges between Kamareddy BJP MLA Venkaramana Reddy and Congress leaders over a parcel of land belonging to Sishu Mandhir.
Mr. Rao condemned the alleged assault by Congress leaders and staff on the camp workplace of BJP MLA Venkataramana Reddy, accusing the Congress authorities of unleashing a “reign of repression” by unlawful arrests and home detentions.
He stated the assault on the BJP MLA’s workplace, adopted by what he termed as indiscriminate arrests and preventive home arrests of BJP leaders, had uncovered the “authoritarian nature” of the Congress administration. He alleged that he was illegally positioned beneath home arrest forward of his proposed go to to Banswada and Kamareddy, the place he supposed to specific solidarity with the occasion MLA.
Mr. Rao alleged that Congress leaders, unable to substantiate what he described as baseless allegations towards the BJP MLA, resorted to violence as an alternative of partaking in debate. Merely asking Congress leaders to show their allegations led to orchestrated assaults, undermining the rule of legislation, justice and democracy, he argued.
Stating that BJP leaders and cadres have been decided to go to Kamareddy and likewise Banswada, the place there was a conflict between two non secular teams, he stated regardless of all obstacles, occasion leaders will go.
