7 killed as avalanche hits Srinagar-Leh National Highway

Seven individuals had been feared lifeless and plenty of autos had been stranded after an avalanche hit the high-altitude Zojila Pass, which connects the Kashmir Valley with Ladakh, on Friday (March 27, 2026). At least 5 others had been injured within the incident.
Officials mentioned the avalanche, apparently triggered by vivid daylight, hit the Srinagar-Leh nationwide freeway close to Zero Point on the Zojila Pass within the afternoon, when a practice of passenger autos was negotiating the snow-laden street.
