Islamabad:
Pakistani safety authorities on Friday intercepted and destroyed two explosive-laden drones within the capital Islamabad, in line with a media report.
One of the drones fell close to Faizabad, and the opposite within the I-9 sector of Islamabad, Dawn reported, quoting sources.
The sources added that the drones had been explosive-laden.
It was not clear who and from the place launched the drones, which got here days after Afghan Defence Minister Mullah Yaqoob threatened that his nation may goal Islamabad.
The incident occurred hours after a drone was intercepted and destroyed in Kohat garrison metropolis of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Earlier, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) mentioned in an announcement on X that flight operations at Islamabad International Airport skilled a “brief operational adjustment”. However, it deleted the publish and issued one other assertion, saying that any information in regards to the closure of the Islamabad International Airport was “baseless
“Flight operations at Islamabad International Airport are persevering with with out interruption, and all flights are working in line with schedule,” it said.
